Imam Addaruqutni Sekjen DMI: Menteri Agama Sebaiknya Minta Maaf dan Klarifikasi Pernyataan-nya

Jakarta – Masyarakat dibuat geram atas pernyataan kumandang azan yang diumpamakan dengan gonggongan anjing oleh Menteri Agama (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas. Atas hal tersebut, Menteri Agama pun dituntut meminta maaf kepada publik.

Sekretaris Jenderal Dewan Masjid Indonesia (Sekjen DMI) Imam Addaruqutni pun mengatakan, sudah sewajarnya Menteri Agama untuk meminta maaf. Pasalnya, kalimat tersebut juga dianggap masyarakat tidak enak didengar.

“Semua mengalir dalam arus budaya, mungkin ada baiknya masyarakat meminta seperti itu (menuntut maaf dari Menteri Agama), itu hak budaya,” ungkap dia ketika dilansir dari JawaPos.com, Kamis (24/02/2022) di Jakarta.

Dalam penyampaiannya nanti, diharapkan Menteri Agama Yaqut dapat menjelaskannya dengan rinci dan bahasa yang jelas. Apalagi, wajar jika pejabat publik mendapatkan evaluasi dari masyarakat.

“Seandainya menyatakan meminta klarifikasi kepada masyarakat ya baik-baik saja, pejabat publik ini memang harus siap dalam suatu evaluasi publik,” tutur dia.

Meskipun begitu, menurutnya tidak ada yang perlu disalahkan, sebab ini merupakan kesalahpahaman belaka. “Publik (menuntut permintaan maaf) ini tidak bisa disalahkan, sama dengan Menag (tak bisa disalahkan), itu kan konteksnya (pernyataan) kegaduhan,” ujar dia.

Adapun, dirinya pun meminta agar pejabat publik, khususnya Menteri Agama untuk berhati-hati dalam berbicara di depan publik. Mengingat bahwa agama merupakan isu yang sensitif.

“Tentu saja (jaga omongan), apalagi masalah keagamaan itu termasuk persoalan sensitif, karena persoalan sensitif, perumpamaan sekalipun kadang-kadang terdistorsi,” tandasnya. (Sfn)
