Prihatin dan peduli terhadap warga masyarakat Jayawijaya terutama yang terdampak banjir di beberapa titik dalam Kota Wamena, Bupati dan Wakil Bupati Jayawijaya, Selasa (29/1/2019) terjun langsung ke lapangan guna membersihkan gorong-gorong yang tersumbat.

Tujuan Bupati Jhon Richard Banua, SE.M.Si bersama Wakil Bupati Jayawijaya, Marthin Yogobi ke lapangan guna membersihkan gorong-gorong yang telah tersumbat tepat berada di Jalan Irian Wamena.

Dalam aksinya, Pimpinan tertinggi pemerintah Jayawijaya itu tidak tanggung-tanggung dan secara spontan loncat ke dalam Parit atau gorong-gorong guna melihat saluran air yang tersumbat.

Tersumbatnya Gorong-Gorong yang ada di Jalan Irian Wamena telah membuat air tidak lagi melewati parit yang ada, melainkan tertumpah ke dalam badan jalan dan membuat beberapa perumahan warga disekitar gorong-gorong terkena banjir.

Bupati Kabupaten Jayawijaya, Jhon Richard Banua, SE.M.Si dalam disela-sela kegiatan pembersihan gorong-gorong mengungkapkan, kegiatan turun kelapangan guna membersihkan gorong-gorong adalah tanggungjawab pemerintah, agar masyarakat yang ada di sekitar gorong-gorong tidak lagi terkena banjir akbat tersumbatnya gorong-gorong.

Dikatakan Bupati, upaya yang dilakukan pemerintah untuk membersihkan gorong-gorong yang tersumbat ialah dengan menurunkan alat berat berupa Eksavator mini guna menanggulanggi tersumbatnya gorong-gorong.
Bupati Banua mengakui, pembersihan yang dilakukan kali ini akan di fokuskan pada 6 titik dalam kota Wamena yang dianggap rawan berdampak banjir sampai kepada perumahan warga, diantaranya jalan trikora, hom-hom dan beberapa titik lainnya, dengan jalan membuka saluran air atau trotoar guna membersihan sampah yang tersumbat di dalam parit.

Menurutnya, pekerjaan pembersihan parit dan selokan yang ada di Wamena merupakan baik kerja dari SKPD terkait, dan untuk hal ini dirinya telah menginstruksikan kepada SKPD terkait untuk segera turun melihat dan membuat laporan langsung kepada Bupati dan Wakil Bupati, namun jika hal ini tidak bisa dilakukan SKPD maka kami berdua bisa langsung turun mengatasi hal ini.

“Saya berharap kepada masyarakat juga, kalau buang sampah atau tebang pohon jangan buang di dalam got atau parit, dan jika hal ini tidak dijaga oleh masyarakat maka akan berdampak kembali ke pada masyarakat,” ungkap Bupati Banua.

Sementara itu, Kepala Dinas Pekerjaan Umum (DPU) Kabupaten Jayawjaya, Max Hattu mengungkapkan, melihat kondisi seperti ini, pihaknya akan berupaya melakukan penanganan dengan melebarkan saluran pembuangan air, dengan tujuan air tidak akan meluap hingga ke perumahan warga.

Dirinya juga berharap agar masyarakat bisa menjaga kebersihan lingkungannya dengan tidak membuang sampah dalam selokan atau parit, karena kebiasaan membuang sampah ke dalam saluran akan meyebabkan tersumbatnya pasrit dan gorong-gorong dan bisa mengakibatkan banjir.
