Kapten tim Prancis, Hugo Lloris mengatakan bahwa Mbappe kini sedang menunjukkan dirinya ke pada dunia. Mbappe mencetak dua gol dalm kurung empat menit babak kedua, setelah berperan atas hadiah penalti ketika ia melakukan sprint dalam jarak 70 meter pertandingan melawan Argentina.
“Saya terhenyak, ia seperti mengendarai motor skuter,” kata pemain tengah Prancis Florian Thauvin, seraya menambahkan bahwa rekannya tersebut tetap tidak sombong atas prestasi yang baru saja dibuat.
“Saya melihatnya tetap dingin setelah pertandingan, seperti tidak terjadi apa-apa,” ujarnya.
