BEKASI –  PERMASALAHAN pembuangan sampah rumah tangga merupakan pekerjaan berat pemerintah DKI Jakarta. Beratnya pembuangan sampah ini karena DKI hingga saat ini tidak memiliki Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA) sampah. Sampah rumah tangga berton-ton tiap hari harus dibuang ke ke luar Jakarta yaitu ke TPA di Bantar Gebang, Bekasi Jawa Barat.

Padahal kalau setiap Rumah Warga/RW di Jakarta memiliki Bank Sampah, sampah-sampah itu tidak perlu  dibuang tapi  dikelola menjadi  pupuk dan produk seni lainnya.

Warga RW 08 di Perumahan Pondok Gede Permai, Jati Asih, Bekasi Jawa Barat ini menyadari betul potensi ekonomis dari sampah perumahan. Karena itu, mereka rajin mengumpulkan barang-baranh bekas untuk dijual ke   jual ke bank sampah yang  dikelola oleh pak Mukhlis. Barang berupa bekas botol aqua, kardus,  buku bekas pelajaran, besi dll punya harga yang berbeda-beda.

“Warga boleh mengambil  hasil  setelah saldonya paling sedikit Rp100.000,-” ujar Mukhlis ditemui di Bank Sampah miliknya di Bekasi, Sabtu (30/6/2018)

Mukhlis menjelaskan, setiap hari ada petugas yang mencatat transaksi barang. Ibu-ibu pun kelihatan semangat untuk mengantar sampahnya ke bank sampah.

“Lumayan dengan adanya bank sampah ibu-ibu RW 08 memiliki tambahan uang belanja dari barang-barang yang mereka setor ke kami,” ujarnya.

Ke depan, lanjut Mukhlis akan dikembangkan pupuk kompos dari limbah dapur dan juga produk-produk kerajinan seperti tas, dompet, dll.

“Dengan adanya bank sampah ini kami juga bisa menciptakan  lapangan kerja bagi warga kami,” pangkas Mukhlis. (Tarmezy).
