JAKARTA – Pakar Komunikasi Politik dari Universitas Pelita Harapan Emrus Sihombing mengucapkan selamat atas pengukuhan Penjabat Sementara (Pjs) Gubernur Papua Soedarmo oleh Mendagri Tjahyo Kumulo, Senin pagi (26/2/2018).

“Saya kenal baik pak Darmo. Beliau figur yang berani berbuat dan bertanggugjawab, rendah hati, dan kemampuannya luar biasa untuk memimpin Papua,” ujar Emrus ketika diwawancarai redaksi.

Menurut Emrus, meski Pak Darmo berlatarbelakang militer, namun kiprah beliau sebagai sipil pada jabatan sebagai Dirjen Politik dan Pemerintahan Umum Kemendagri telah menjelaskan kepada publik track record beliau yang sukses memimpin institusi sipil.

Apalagi sebelumnya Pak Darmo juga sempat menjadi Pjs Gubernur Aceh. “Saya yakin Presiden tidak akan memilih beliua jika di Aceh Pak Darmo tidak sukses ketika menjadi Plt Gubernur Aceh tahun lalu,” papar Emrus.

Terkait Indek Demokrasi Papua yang masuk kategori paling rendah dibanding provinsi lain, Emrus melihat ini sebagai tantangan riel yang mesti dihadapai Pjs Gubernu Papua.

Berlatar militer, lanjut Emrus, Pak Darmo dengan ilmu strategisnya dan terbiasa untuk berfikir rasonal-legal plus sudah berpengalaman sebagai Plt Gubernur di Aceh serta jabatan strategis di Kementrian Dalam Negeri diharapkan beliau akan bisa mendorong peningkatan partisipasi warga untuk ikut pemilu.

“Saya yakin Pak Darmo mampu memimpin Papua sebagai Gubernur di era Pilkada Serentak,” harap Emrus. (Zul).
