Indonesia-Australia sepakat perpanjang kerja sama pertahanan

Jakarta – Pemerintah Indonesia dan Australia sepakat memperpanjang kerja sama di bidang pertahanan dalam pertemuan The Perth Meeting Sub-Regional Defence Ministers Meeting on Counter-Terrorism yang berlangsung di Perth, Australia pada Kamis (1/2) hingga Jumat (2/2).

Menteri Pertahanan (Menhan), Ryamizard Ryacudu dalam keterangan tertulisnya di Jakarta, Sabtu, mengatakan, Indonesia dan Australia telah menandatangani kesepakatan perpanjangan perjanjian kerjasama pertahanan.

Menhan mengatakan bahwa Indonesia dan Australia telah sepakat untuk menyusun kerangka kerja sama keamanan dan aksi pertahanan per tanggal 1 Febuari 2018.

“Kita berkomitmen untuk memperkuat hubungan bilateral dan memperluas kerjasama pertahanan berdasarkan prinsip kesetaraan, saling menguntungkan, saling menghormati dan saling percaya,” kata Ryamizard.

Dalam pertemuan tersebut, Menhan juga menjelaskan, bahwa semua negara sependapat dan sepakat bahwa terorisme merupakan ancaman lintas negara dan kawasan terhadap kemanusiaan.

Sehingga, kata mantan Kepala Staf Angkatan Darat (KSAD) ini, setiap negara di ASEAN perlu peningkatan kerja sama yang kuat, termasuk pertukaran intelijen strategis.

“Para peserta juga berkomitmen untuk memperkuat kerjasama pertahanan melalui forum multilateral yaitu ADMM-plus serta mekanisme kerjasama regional lainnya, merespon ancaman dari ISIS, kelompok teroris lain dan Returnees FTF (Foreign Terrorist Fighter),” katanya.

Perth Meeting ini sendiri merupakan forum pertemuan yang diinisiasi oleh Australia untuk memperkuat kerjasama pertahanan dalam melawan terorisme di kawasan Asean.

Pertemuan tersebut dipimpin langsung oleh Menhan Australia selaku tuan rumah, HE Senator the Hon Marise Payne dan dihadiri Wakil Menteri Pertahahan Thailand Jenderal Chaichan Changmonkol dan Wakil Menteri Pertahanan Brunei Darussalam Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit.

Tidak hanya itu, Menteri Pertahanan Filipina Delfin Lorenzana, Menteri Pertahanan Malaysia Hishammuddin Tun Hussein dan Menteri Pertahanan dan Luar Negeri Singapura Dr Mohammad Maliki bin Osman turut hadir dalam pertemuan tersebut.

Khusus delegasi RI langsung dipimpin oleh Menhan RI, Jend. (Purn) Ryamizard Ryacudu selaku ketua delegasi dengan anggota dari perwakilan Kemhan, Kemlu, KJRI Perth dan Athan RI di Canberra.(Safina/Ant)
