Ramallah, Palestina – Kantor Presiden Palestina Mahmoud Abbas pada Rabu mengatakan Yerusalem tidak dijual, setelah Presiden Amerika Serikat Donald Trump mengancam akan menghentikan bantuan keuangan untuk Palestina.
“Yerusalem tidak dijual! Baik ditukar dengan emas maupun perak,” kata Juru Bicara Abbas, Nabil Arbu Rudeinah, sebagaimana dikutip Kantor Berita Palestina, WAFA.
Anggota Komite Eksekutif Organisasi Pembebasan Palestina (PLO) Hanan Ashrawi mengatakan hak rakyat Palestina tidak dijual, demikian laporan Xinhua –yang dipantau Antara di Jakarta, Rabu malam. “Dengan mengakui Yerusalem, yang diduduki, sebagai ibu kota Israel, Donald Trump bukan hanya telah melanggar hukum internasional, tapi juga dengan satu tangan telah menghancurkan landasan perdamaian dan membenarkan pencaplokan tidak sah Israel atas kota itu.”
Hanan Ashrawi menambahkan, “Kami takkan bisa diperas. Presiden Trump telah menyabot pencarian kami bagi perdamaian, kebebasan dan keadilan. Sekarang ia berani menyalahkan rakyat Palestina atas konsekuensi tindakannya sendiri yang tidak bertanggung-jawab.”
Di Twitter pada Selasa (2/1), Trump mengatakan, “Kami membayar untuk Palestina RATUSAN JUTA DOLAR setahun dan tak mendapat penghargaan atau penghormatan. Mereka bahkan tak ingin merundingkan kesepakatan perdamaian, yang sudah lama melewati batas waktu, dengan Israel … Karena Palestina tak lagi ingin membicarakan perdamaian, mengapa kami mesti melakukan pembayaran sangat besar ini pada masa depan buat mereka?”
Juru Bicara HAMAS di Jalur Gaza Fawzi Barhoum mengatakan di dalam surel kepada pers bahwa “Ancaman Presiden AS Donald Trump untuk memotong bantunan buat Badan Pekerjaan dan Bantuan PBB bagi Pengungsi Palestina (UNRWA) dan Pemerintah Otonomi Nasional Palestina (PNA) agar mau berunding adalah pemerasan politik murahan yang mencerminkan cara tak bermoral dan barbar Amerika dalam menangani masalah keadilah Palestina dan hak rakyat Palestina”.(Lutfi/Ant)
