“Marlina” Menangi Penghargaan di Polandia

JAKARTA – Film “Marlina Si Pembunuh dalam Empat Babak” karya sutradara Mouly Surya kembali memenangi penghargaan internasional dalam ajang Five Flavours Film Festival yang diselenggarakan di Polandia.

Kemenangan tersebut diumumkan dalam laman Twitter rumah produksi @cinesurya yang diakses di Jakarta, Kamis, dengan mengunggah kutipan pernyataan NETPAC Jury Award dari Five Flavours Film Festival.

“Film ini memiliki visi tunggal yang unik, terutama dalam kualitas gaya, menggunakan ikonografi barat yang beralih ke lanskap Asia kontemporer,” demikian pernyataan tersebut.

“Marlina” dinilai sangat mencolok dan menantang dengan kualitas luar biasa dalam desain penyuntingan dan suara pada khususnya.

“Tidak diragukan lagi, Mouly Surya merupakan salah satu talenta Asia yang luar biasa saat ini dan ia membawa suaranya yang khas dalam film ini,” tulis para juri Five Flavours Film Festival.

Kemenangan “Marlina” di Polandia ini menambah daftar penghargaan yang telah diperoleh film tersebut sejak awal kemunculannya di Festival Film Cannes pada Mei 2017.

Film yang mengambil latar di Sumba, Nusa Tenggara Timur ini sebelumnya diganjar penghargaan film dengan skenario terbaik pada FIFFS Maroko edisi ke-11, aktris terbaik untuk Marsha Timothy dari Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival, Spanyol, dan penghargaan film terbaik Asian NestWave dari The QCinema Film Festival, Filipina.

Ide cerita film yang antara lain dibintangi oleh Marsha Timothy (Marlina), Dea Panendra (Novi), Egi Fedly (Markus), dan Yoga Pratama (Frans), berasal dari sutradara senior Garin Nugroho.

Premis awal yakni kekerasan kampung yang tidak hanya terjadi di Sumba tetapi juga di banyak daerah lain di Indonesia tetap dipertahankan oleh Mouly dan Rama Adi sebagai penulis skenario, tetapi ditambahkan detil-detil budaya “kendaraan” berupa genre western ala film-film koboi.

Film yang mulai tayang di bioskop-bioskop Tanah Air sejak 16 November lalu berkisah tentang Marlina, seorang janda muda yang diserang dan dirampok ternaknya. Kawanan perampok berjumlah tujuh orang itu mengancam nyawa, harta, juga kehormatan Marlina di hadapan suaminya yang sudah berbentuk mumi, duduk di pojok ruangan.

Untuk membela diri, ia membunuh beberapa orang anggota perampok tersebut dengan racun yang dicampur dalam makanan, dan memenggal kepala Markus, si bos perampok.

Keesokan harinya dalam sebuah perjalanan demi mencari keadilan dan penebusan, Marlina membawa kepala Markus yang ia penggal malam sebelumnya.

Marlina kemudian bertemu Novi yang menunggu kelahiran bayinya dan Frans yang menginginkan kepala Markus untuk kembali disatukan dengan tubuhnya. (Ant)
