MONASNEWS.COM, YOGYAKARTA  – Pemerintah Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta terus mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan kawasan pantai selatan daerah ini guna mendukung peningkatkan perekonomian untuk kesejahteraan masyarakat pesisir.

“Kebetulan di pantai selatan ada suatu bentuk laguna yang merupakan sumber daya alam yang dikaruniakan kepada kita untuk bisa dimanfaatkan secara optimal, khususnya di Laguna Depok,” kata Kepala Dinas Pariwisata DIY Aris Riyanta di Kabupaten Bantul, Minggu.

Menurut dia, dalam pemanfatan kawasan pantai selatan dengan melibatkan masyarakat tersebut sudah ditunjukkan masyarakat Bantul bersama berbagai elemen dengan menampilkan beragam seni tradisi pada acara Kenduri Pesisir di Laguna Depok beberapa saat lalu.

“Termasuk adanya perahu-perahu di Laguna Depok itu bisa menjadi bagian untuk mendukung ekonomi masyarakat, jadi sungguh nanti kegiatan semacam ini menjadi bagian yang bisa meningkatkan kesejahteraan rakyat,” katanya.

Terlebih, kata dia, Gubernur DIY Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X dalam visinya menyongsong abad Samudera Hindia adalah mengembangkan sisi pantai selatan DIY menjadi halaman depan daerah ini yang jelas berdampak pada peningkatan ekonomi selatan.

Aris menjelaskan, pantai selatan DIY yang membentang dari selatan Kabupaten Kulon Progo sampai Gunung Kidul yang panjang pantainya sekitar 113 kilometer ini mempunyai potensi yang luar biasa dikembangkan.

“Jadi ini akan menjadi suatu strategi yang sangat bagus di mana potensi laut itu sangat banyak luas sehingga menjadi suatu tantangan sendiri bagi masyarakat sekalugus pemda untuk mengembgangkan sisi selatan lebih maju lagi,” katanya.

Dengan demikian, kata dia, sehingga nantinya jika visi Gubernur DIY sudah terwujud bisa betul-betul mengurangi kesejanjangan pertumbuhan wilayah sekaligus mengurangi kemiskinan yang sudah jadi prioritas pembangunan DIY.

“Kami sangat bangga terhadap masyarakat yang sudah secara bersatu padu mendukung apa yang sudah menjadi visi Pak Gubernur DIY,” katanya.
